Truth spring is excited about their latest project, the Highland community church worship CD. In an effort to raise money for community development in the North Highland area of Columbus, truth spring has joined forces with highland community church to record and produce a worship CD. Here’s how it will work:
Highland Community Church is working on a project to produce a worship CD which will include songs from the breakfast choir and the Highland praise band.
All sales made from the CD will go directly to Truth Spring.
The cost for recording and producing this CD is $5,000.00. If you are interested in donating to this project you can go to the “How you can help” tab and click on “provide”. Again, all proceeds made from the sales of the CD will go directly into rebuilding, restoring, and reconnecting the North Highland community.
Some plans we have for the money include:
• Purchasing several A/C units for those living in the community without central air/heat.
• Sending five people to grant writing school both from the Truth Spring board and from the community in order to form a grant writing team that will work to secure future funds to be used in and for the North Highland Community.
• Purchasing 2 homes in the neighborhood with the intent to renovate them and then rent/sell them at an affordable cost.
Thank you in advance for your prayers and support!
On October 22nd, CSU came to North Highland for their Annual Day of Service. Faculty and students partnered together to work on projects in the neighborhood, including this one pictured above. In the photo, Jeff and Wendy are pictured with their children. They live on 5th ave and their front yard was landscaped as one of the projects for the day of service. They were extremely grateful. Truth Spring is extremely appreciative to CSU and the Servant Leadership Organization for coming out to rebuild the streets of North Highland. We are looking forward to more projects with Servant Leadership, as the upcoming year is right around the corner.
The big day is finally here!!! CSU’s day of service is tomorrow and they will begin working at 9:00. If you have time, please come and participate even if it’s just by giving a word of thanks to the CSU volunteers. Some of the things to get done will be new flooring in the nursery, the resource center, and in the new office area. A fence will be put in along the back of the property as well as a swing set for the children. Clean up around the church property and along the street will also be done, as well as a landscape makeover for one of the houses on 5th avenue! As you can tell, there will be a lot going on tomorrow so please pray that all will be accomplished and that most importantly God’s glory will be manifested in and around our neighborhood.
God continues to move. CSU’s Servant Leadership Organization is hosting a free concert to benefit their service projects in North Highland. The concert is going to be from 5-9 this Thursday @ the CSU intramural fields. Come out and join us for this fun-filled evening, benefiting our streets.
Furthermore, CSU has elected to do their Annual Day of Service here on our streets, which going to be October 22, 2011; much to do regarding this! PRAY! If you would like to be part simply contact us. Come join the other 200, or so, folks that will be here that day to serve and rebuild.
More to come!
